Rules & Regulations

1. Governing Body

  • The series is sanctioned by NORA Motorsport, ensuring adherence to national motocross standards.
  • All participants must comply with NORA’s rules and regulations.

2. Eligibility

  • Youth Classes: Riders aged 7–17, competing in 65cc, 85cc, or 125cc/250F categories.
  • Adult Classes: Riders aged 16+, competing in Steady, Clubman, Vets 35+/45+, Expert 250cc/450cc, or Pro 250cc/450cc classes.
  • All riders must hold a valid NORA license. Day licenses are available upon request.

3. Technical Inspection

  • All motorcycles must pass a technical inspection before participating.
  • Inspections will cover:
    • Brake functionality
    • Throttle response
    • Chain tension
    • Safety features
    • Noise level compliance
  • Non-compliant motorcycles will not be permitted to race until issues are resolved.

4. Safety Gear

  • Mandatory safety equipment includes:
    • Approved helmet (meeting ECE, Snell, ACU standards)
    • Protective boots
    • Gloves
    • Goggles
    • Chest protector
  • Riders without proper gear will be disqualified from participation.

5. Race Conduct

  • Riders must maintain sportsmanlike behaviour at all times.
  • Prohibited actions include:
    • Intentional blocking
    • Aggressive or dangerous riding
    • Ignoring flag signals
  • Violations may result in penalties, disqualification, or suspension.

6. Event Format

  • Practice Sessions: Two timed 20min practice sessions per class.
  • Qualifying: Timed qualifying sessions determine gate picks.
  • Heats: Each class competes in two 4-lap heats.
  • Super Final:
    • Top 40 adult riders qualify based on fastest lap times from heats.
    • Reserve riders (positions 41–45) may replace withdrawals.
    • The Super Final is a 6-lap race with additional prizes.

7. Gate Pick Determination

  • Gate picks for each race are determined by lap times from the timed qualifying sessions.
  • Faster lap times grant earlier gate selection.

8. Scoring and Tie-Breakers

  • Points are awarded based on finishing positions in heats.
  • In the event of a tie on points:
    • The rider with the better finish in the last heat race will be ranked higher.

9. Protests

  • Protests must be submitted within 30 minutes of the race’s conclusion.
  • A £50 fee accompanies each protest.
  • The Clerk of Course and event officials will review and decide on protests.
  • Fees are refunded only if the protest is upheld.

10. Force Majeure

  • If an event is cancelled due to weather or unforeseen circumstances:
    • Entries may roll over to the next round.

11. Prizes and Awards

  • Youth Classes:
    • Trophies awarded to the top 10 riders per round.
    • Series trophies for overall top 10 riders.
  • Adult Classes:
    • Cash prizes awarded to top 10 riders in each class per round.
    • Pro Class: £2,500 total prize fund per round.
  • Super Final:
    • £6,000 prize fund per round.
    • Top 10 finishers receive cash prizes.

12. Spectator Information

  • Tickets:
    • Adult: £15
    • Child (5–15): £5
    • Family Pass (2 adults + 2 children): £30
    • Children under 5: Free
  • Amenities include:
    • Food and beverage vendors
    • Trade stands
    • Live commentary
    • Kids’ demo zones

13. General Conduct

  • No riding in the pits; helmets must be worn at all times when on a motorcycle.
  • Riders must attend the mandatory rider briefing before participating.
  • Failure to adhere to rules may result in penalties or disqualification.
